Pittsburgh to Washington, DC

Hmmm.... In the last 48 hours, I've had two excellent plans for getting back home from an intermediate point (2-3 days of riding from Pittsburgh) go to smoke! I'm going to explore one more avenue... if that doesn't pan out by Wednesday, I'm going to have to downgrade to riding along for the first day only.

The plan is to roll out of the parking lot in McKeesport at 7am Saturday. I.e., arrive before 7am and be ready to roll out at 7am. The plan is to spend night 1 in Confluence and night 2 in Cumberland. I.e., we aspire to have dinner in Cumberland on Sunday.

We do plan to go rain or shine. We won't ride if it's dangerous (i.e., lightning), but we'll just lower our expectations. I've got a pretty good handle on camping options along the way. We're getting picked up Tuesday evening wherever we make it to. Hopefully, that's Purcelville, VA.

The tent I have only holds 2 (Kathleen and me), so Jim, if you plan to come along, you'll want a tent. Here's my current gear list file:
